How many incidents of underwater collisions occur in nuclear powered submarines which often or at least can, go 20-30kts?
If memory serves, they even manage to bump into each other now and then....

Only because the French one was on the wrong side of the road.If memory serves, they even manage to bump into each other now and then....
How deep is the water in that part of the ocean? How high above the waves do these "boats" fly?Alex did say that they had a whale sonic device on the hull to alert whales that the boat is nearby but how does the poor beast have time to do anything useful when the boat is moving towards it at 20 to 30knots?
Anyway, why should the poor Whale have to get out of the way?
Do you think the rudder problem is a design problem, or a skipper problem.
Thats the impression you are giving people, when most others would expect it to be UFO problem.
HB, like some others, carry a spare rudder. What does that tell you?
Best check your COLREGS.Only because the French one was on the wrong side of the road.
there was a famous one in the clyde some years ago which they vehemently denied while the casualties were drowning , right up until they got cought out and could deny it no more ,, the evidence was found wrapped around their coning tower ,,, how many other ones which never get reported or are denied due to lack of evidence is anybodys guessHow many incidents of underwater collisions occur in nuclear powered submarines which often or at least can, go 20-30kts?
OK so with Alex out, shame, who are you cheering for? I'm taken with Boris.
??? casualties drowning. do you have a reference ?there was a famous one in the clyde some years ago which they vehemently denied while the casualties were drowning , right up until they got cought out and could deny it no more ,, the evidence was found wrapped around their coning tower ,,, how many other ones which never get reported or are denied due to lack of evidence is anybodys guess
Agreed, come on Boris!
I get the impression he's half cut most of the time. He probably sleeps more than most. Only waking when his great circle alarm goes off. He may not finish in the shortest time but I'll bet he finishes in the shortest distance.I'm going with the grey vote : Jean Le Cam .
Could be worth backing for a place finish. I expect he needs more sleep than the rest of them but probably overcomes the bouts of boredom and stress calculating his pension plans.
The right call.Alex has ceased racing and is heading to Cape Town
I'm taken with Boris.
Agreed, come on Boris!
