Has anyone got an Installation manual for these. I believe the cable has broken and thus no through water speed / log registering. I read on the forum that someone replaced the inner cable with plastic strimmer line? See photo for current situation showing cable trailing out of the back of the impeller. Any help on replacing the cable is very welcome 🙏 IMG_0664.jpeg

I have also broken cable ... its broken at the display end .....

Not so easy to find new cable ...... there are a few on eBay .....

I'm thinking to remove mine and replace with paddle wheel log ....

Thank you Roger and Refueler, I’ve tried Mr Google and no success, there appear to be cables available but I want to understand what I actually need to replace and how before I buy something that might end up sitting in a cupboard when I discover it won’t fit. The log is circa 1986, but I cant find even a sales catalogue 🤷‍♂️

The cable is basically a Bowden cable running inside a spiral wound wire tube ... similar to a bicycle brake cable ... The impellor end as you see is locked by a screw and that's why you have that bit sticking out ...
The display end has a square end soldered on that engages into the back of the display .. its common - like mine - that the square end breaks off from the cable ...

I have heard of people creating a new end - but I cannot advise how.

I have same one,on mine there was no screw at the impeller both ends are square, the square end rounded off and the impeller wouldnt drive the cable so I just soldered the end and filed it square.

Interesting ....

My impellor looks like a dog has been gnawing at it ... parts of the blades are missing - so I doubt mine would read correct if reconnected. I did hope that someone had scanned one to be able to 3D print a new one ... but none found.
