I need to re-make a fibre glass hatch that lets light through. East Coast Fibreglass tell me that pigmented flowcoat isnt as UV stable as varnish. Will varnish stick to flowcoat? Which is the best varnish to protect from UV?
Thanks

Perhaps something designed for painting GRP yachts? There's a lot of it about, both single pack and two-pack. Also lots of threads on here about yacht paint.
Most varnishes seem to let light through. By design.

With cedar strip and sometimes ply construction it is the norm to sheath the hull using glass cloth and epoxy (as it adheres better than polyester). To protect the epoxy from UV degradation it is rubbed back for a key and varnished with a yacht varnish with good UV filter properties. This results in a transparent coating to show off the timber beneath, usually imparting a slightly golden hue. Sounds just about what you are after. You could lay up the whole thing in epoxy and then varnish both inside and out.
