We are, kind of looking for slightly bigger boat, same kind of value, and possible swap?
i was thinking Rival 34, Sadler 34, Contessa 32, Nicholson 32.
or I just being greedy?
Any suggestions?

Very different boats

Rival, old-fashioned but comfortable

Sadler, closest to a modern cruiser. Best for accomodation and sailing qualities

Contessa, good sailor but wet and overpriced

Nic 32, real quality and safe comfortable sailor. Not easy to manage in a marina.

Well our V27 it's not the best around marinas, lovelly to sail do....
Sell and buy or swap?
Or keep what we have?

As an ex V27 owner what you will definitely get by changing is about a 20% reduction in passage times although none will be as well finished as the V27 nor quite as sea kindly but they are all capable boats and should give you no problems other than having to dip a little deeper into your pocket. I went up to a V34C and never had a complaint, I was actually looking for a V32 but the 34 came along so I guess that if as most if not all that sail a V27 the only one that is likely to satisfy you will be a bigger Vancouver.

What about a Halmatic? I've always thought they look the business

Nice boat, this is what I have found about them:
Designed as a smaller version of the Nicholson 31, the Halmatic 30 is in very much the same style - a heavy displacement long-keeler with a high ballast ratio. They are strongly built and have an excellent reputation as a serious seagoing yacht.

According to some articles I have read in Yachting magazines including the review in the Summer YM, the Nic 31 came AFTER the Halmatic. Halmatic had moulded the Nic 32 for some years, and commissioned their own design for a yacht with similar seakeeping qualities but with a more modern/spacious interior and a bit smaller to attract a different market.

After it appeared the Nicholson commissioned the Nic 31, apparently relations between the two companies did not go well afterwards. :)

The Nic 31 is a bit prettier, but has less room below, it all depends on your individual priorities. We have been delighted with our Halmatic. It is a go anywhere boat, and although not a racer she is surprisingly quick.

If only there is a little bit more room in main cabin as in V27-4, it would be perfect!
Any one looking to swop?
