Van Lent - tempting......

I agree i really think dutch boats are the way to go..ive been looking for some time now for a boat to take down to Turkey as a liveaboard ,,, via rhine,,danube,,etc if you want a home abroad they cant be bettered

Getting carried away now, haven't stopped searching for two days, bloody terrible, you get something in your head and thats it nothing distracts you, SWMBO could be lying in a pool of blood for the last two days and I wouldn't know. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Anyway, what about this for a find....

60' steel built for cruising the fijords / north sea etc so tough as they come, complete liveaboard facilities even down to proper wet central system + air con. Latest electronic nav package, 2 X radar, autopliot, fully stabilised, three doubles with two ensuites, mosterous saloon with seperate pilot house, galley dining area, seems to be very well maintained and done 3000 hrs on slow revy diesels. Looks about 1500 NM range to boot. Obviously not all glass and halogen lighting inside, looks more solid for the job type of thing, some nice mahogany and oak joinery work though.

How much ?....................

About £250K would secure I am told.

i think we both have the same bug,,i was looking for an american trawler type untill i looked in to the new eu regs,,

I'll have to be careful here or I'll end up shooting myself in the foot.

fantastic value for money when you think what it would cost to build again, probably near £700K - £800K, I'd imagine you could motor on her for a few seasons and not loose anything, plop her down the med on a good berth at say 250K euro and with the increase in value of the berth if the market stays as it is and you'll come out on top.

i have been looking for ages for a boat to take down to turkey via rhine ,,danube ,etc ..i looked at bringing a boat in from the states but new eu regs scuppered that,,,i have been looking at a de vries 50fter on sander-doeve.nl.. perhaps not a classic but still a nice boat ,,,im going to see it next week
