Sorry, can't remember the chap's details, but on the delivery he did for me I strongly suspected that the bathroom scales he uses to weigh (and thus cost) consignments were, shall we say, rather loosely calibrated. Suggest you use some reliable independent means of verifying the weight of yours.

I have tried to use Vernon but found him a little difficult!!!
Fortunately I found a pucker transport company who do regular runs to Greece via Preveza. They sell space in their outgoing trailer and return with trailers full of goods for the UK fashion trade. By trailers I'm referring to proper 40ft jobs not something bought from Halfords.
They are fully insured and have all of the correct licences & permits.
I shipped a pile of gear out to Preveza Yacht services 2 years ago, it left the UK on Monday and was with PYS by the following Friday.
Apart from my stuff there was a sailing dingy and an Audi TT in the back of the trailer. Their service was superb and Hilary is more than helpful. They're based in Daventry but as I'm in Kent they collected my stuff on the way to the ferry at Dover.

You might also want to consider nimbusgb on here but I think hat he only does an 'out' trip at the beginning of the season and a 'back' at the end.
