Hello Folks.
As some will know ive been having problems with me old lumps.(its a long story).
The fuel injection pump is now ready to be put back on the engine,The fuel lines have been renewed and the lift pump replaced, also the water pump re-built.Now the problem. To time the injection pump i need to get No6 cylinder to TDC and then turn the engine over by hand to the correct position of 16Deg BTDC. During the period of work being carried out on the engine with no injection pump fitted the engine has been turned over a few times (by hand) Today i started to install the injection pump and bugger me there are no timing marks on the flywheel or on the pump drive gears so i have no ref(i know i should have marked it up before i ripped it off the engine).so the only way i can do it is to carry out the settings as per the manual,to do this i need to get hold of a Volvo tool to compress the exhaust valve springs on No6 cylinder(this allows the valve to drop onto the piston,Then i measure the distance the piston moves via a dial gauge on the valve stem top) The tool number is 884473 anybody got one they would be willing to let me use for a couple of days? or know where i would be likely to get one? i could knock up a gizmo to do the job but if i can get the right tool it would be better.
Long winded question really
Thanks troops
