Looks like both legs fully trim down, but one reads -4 and the other -3.... how do I adjust the -3 to read -4 again ?

Sounds like the rack on the top of the steering helmet needs adjusting when you are next out of the water.
FWIW our last boat often read a degree different - just got used to it.

Nope sorry, with such a small difference the adjustment can be done easily from the engine bay by slackening off the fork that holds the potentiometer in place, twist the right direction to give the correct reading.

The reading can differ as the hood bushes wear, and general wear on the rack and gear wheel.

In that case ignore what I said!! :-)

No Greg, your on the right track , the setting of the rack bar is the first procedure when setting up from scratch, then fine tune with the fork( not a joke). 5 times out of ten you can hit -5 on the gauge, other times im p*ssing about up and down.

Ok, so it can be done when the boat is back in the water anyway..as it looks like a lousy w.end, and I wont bother going down !
Thanks for info guys.

if you have only just lifted back in or not been for a run this season yet I would wait until you have done 50nm before you touch it.

I used to have this issue every time I lifted back in, I assume grease had got in somewhere and stopped one leg seating 100% back.
After a cruise they both used to settle down.

Fair point, Daka... might just need some use and Spring !
