Finally managed to track down a couple of van breakers with 12 volt Eberspachers on hand. I have just ordered a 2 year old webasto from a council gritter for £100 - wonder if its seen any use at all?

Found a another place that has a number eberspachers, still in vehicles for £100 plus vat. located up north and wanted £50 to take it out since I wasn't able to the job..so not much good to me but for anyone else interested, drop me a PM and I'll forward you the name and number.

Can't wait.. soon I'll have a warm dry boat...! All that remains is the water system, have all the bits (pump, calorifier) except the tanks (which are on back order) pipework and some taps and the boat will be "wife friendly" - maybe she'll sleep on board...

Ive seen some pretty good ones on ebay. However when I phoned Kruggers they said to expect a bill for £300 + VAT for the bits to refit into a boat, in particular the transom exhaust fitting. Any truth in this?

The eberspacher original skin fitting is very pricey -

I know of a couple of places that make their own versions and these cost £60 or so.

My exhaust will vent through the pilot house and I have been told I don't need that fitting.

The exhaust will be mounted through a stainless steel plate and I am going to put a a raised loop in the middle of the exhaust run just in case water finds its way in.

I don't think there are any other pure boat related bits required

Lets have a forum on fitting Eberspachers!

The £300 that Kruger quote includes replacing the thermostat of the Van version with a remote thermostat. I settled for a recirculation system in the cabin and didn't have to shell out for it.

I bought 2m lengths of mild steel flex exhaust for £15 and glass insulation from www.asap.co.uk on the recommendation of Iain Simpson ( in this forum) and had an stainless exhaust fitting made up to his design for about £20.00.
