Indeed, I think that last night Jimmy and Benny and Tommy were pretty chilled about following Emirates TNZ to mark 2 because they knew they would be 30-60 seconds faster on leg 3 and, short of a catastrophe, there was no way back from that.

PS I have been a great advocate of watching it live but I couldn't last night cos a fire alarm went off in our building and, although I had decided to sit it out with ear defenders, a PCSO hauled me off to safety. So watched the BBC prog at 23:50 which was interesting, specially when the "expert" introducer said the boats were 72 metres long. Now that would be something...maybe next time Larry Ellison will specify that.

The commentator at one point also said OTUSA had a 29 MINUTE lead!

You have to forgive the yanks, its not their fault they have different gallons, miles,mils and still use feet and inches for engineering, even in space and have the oddest format for a date.
Maybe that's why Ellison uses a Kiwi boatbuilder, so it ends up the right size!

All told the Kiwis come out of it rather well. the american bit is just the money.

On the other hand it makes more nations happy, sort of.
When Ferrari was winning everything, in France they were convinced it was an almost total French success story thanks to Jean Todt, in Germany it was king Schumi, in Italy well it's Ferrari... everyone was happy, at least until two people from different countries came to discuss the relative merits

Otusa down 8 to 1 so make changes (to boat and crew) = cup win. Etna can,t get the final race win, but just keep going race after race after race trying to bag one more = cup lost. If otusa can make that level of improvement, god i was hoping that etnz could too.
