USA shipping costs

What’s monumental about it please explain this is why I posted here.
In addition to the general hassle of the shipping... it's all about the boat.

CE Compliance on hull. Emissions compliance on engine. Import duty. VAT. Trailer legality. Electrics compatibility (110v / 230v). Getting from Turkey into EU waters (Aegean crossing in a small boat) and potentially repeating that every 18 months. Impossibility of resale. Finding a service agent willing to take it on.

I'm sure you've got a plan.

Turkey isn’t the EU and they normal allow from port to marina it won’t be going far
So how will you manage the moving between countries between Temporary Import periods? Small boat to do long distances on own keel?
There are good reasons why people stopped importing second hand USA boats (especially low value trailer boats) across the Atlantic.

Also I need opinions and advice on shipping not the opinions on whether I should ship from the US. Ok in that case I task any of you to find a good condition sea ray 240 between 2007-2009 . You can’t find them at all. The only 240s like most boats in the UK are old 1998s -2000s that have been round and round. I like what I like and like what I’m use to . Thanks
The reason why there are so few and older boats is because they cannot be economically imported into either the UK or the EU, partly because they have difficulty in meeting the RCD and partly because the potentially high price limits the size of the market. They are US orientated products and have limited appeal elsewhere. Good advice in post 11-13. Container is the way to go as unlikely you will find either RO RO or deck cargo on that route. Trade between US and Turkey is low so there will inevitably be transhipment, particularly from the West Coast. Presumably you have checked that you can legally import it into Turkey. You are right, no difficulty popping over to Greece under EU TI if you are a non EU resident.

You are unlikely to get any direct experience from folks here for the simple reason that so few if any UK or even European individuals have done it. There was quite a trade in the past (15-20 years ago) when American builders were active and the boats were built to the first iteration of the RCD and the $ was weak. However the 2013 version of the RCD changed the scene, particularly on stability of this kind of boat together with a flat market, tariffs and strong $ meant US builders in general abandoned the market.

You are most likely to find shipping agents specialising in boats in Florida or Baltimore.
