just because the boat didn't have a wooden board that might or might not have been seen?

You guys make me mad!! I think you need to get of your high horses and accept that everyone, including myself, some times gets it wrong. I've accepted that perhaps I should try a Rigid flag to make my orange boat more visible to myopic boat owners. although I think it'll make bugger all diference to the attitude of some skippers. Maybe you should accept that we're not all as perfect as you!!!

I posted to bring attention to the subject, we can all learn from everyones comments. DON'T point fingers and effectively say "he wasn't following the rules so neither should anyone else". I was doing my upmost to keep the divers safe, and in the future will try others methods to do the same.

As to orange ribs, you seem to say that 'most' orange ribs are dive boats. I am not sure how you come to that assertion as most orange ribs I see are privately owned ordinary ribs - even our local retired psychiatrist has one for pottering around in, as does our sailing safety boats, RNLI and training schools. I have only ever seen two diving boats working in the local waters, one a black rib and the other a big twin inboard diesel engined survey boat that resides in my marina.

There are two dive boats that work out of Beaumaris, but they are both white and blue charter fishing style boats. So, an orange rib is often just that, an orange rib.

Hmm .. suspect you've just lost the argument with that tirade! FWIW there's very few owners of boats capable of 25knots on SB, and I suspect that most here know what they are doing. Perhaps you're target audience of the ignorant lies elsewhere?

I've just used my boat as an example, it happens to be orange, if not a bit grubby at the moment!!
Don't think I've ever said all dive ribs are orange?
Anyway, I got a bit angry cause it seems some just want to excuse the behaviour of some skippers rather than accept that post for what it was.....just to try to raise awareness of an issue I've come up against.
Our brains are like sponges, they absorb info and store it for when it's needed. If one skipper avoids one diver in 10 years time this post has been worth it.
................and relax!

accepted, but again just using that occasion as an example...it does seem that in general raggies do keep clear....anyway most divers can swim quicker than you guys /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
