For those of you tired of Marina prices for upholstery work then I can recommend Herberts of Aldershot.

Probably one of the scruffiest and unlikely premises I have been in for a long time, but staffed by an old couple very much in the old tradition of skill and service. Was recommended there by a guy with a couple of classic Fletchers he had had re-upholstered.

I had a seat squad re-covered for £100, a couple of south-coast marine upholstery specialists quoted over £250.

If you look through Yellow Pages on line or just Google there are plenty of these local firms.
Here in Inverness a small firm on the local industrial estate which will make new or strip and recover.
Having said that I just get stuck in with my sewing machine and suitable material and if I want buttoning I use specialist firms to make the buttons up with material I send them.
Similarly we have a Taurpaulin maker who also does spray covers;fitted boat covers;caravan /car covers as well as Bouncy Castles! Again far more competitively priced than the so called specialists.
