Who supplies the helm seats for modern motorboats? Are they all chst manufactured for specific models or do manufacturers such as Fairline and Sealibe order from a catalogue?

Thinking of replacing a 1990's bench seat with two individual seats the like of which you find on the later phantoms/squadrons and the bigger sealines.

If you want the pukka recaros google capital seating. They supply fairline. They will cover them in any vinyl Movida or subnbrella that you want. About £1 k per pop

for the tightwads like me, in what way do they differ from a recaro from a scrapped cavalier SRi, retrimmed?

Thinking of changing my helm bech for 2 recaros, more comfy and they can swivel aft.

Recaro marine seats are made by Sun Marine in Holland, and I think they have an all SS frame, which would explain the high price. Most car seat frames aren't even painted any more, though i've no idea if that applies to a Cavalier SRi frame.

It was an "are the frames stainless" question really. There are plenty of examples of marine high prices that are not explained by logic after all.
