You should send the completed forms (C1331) to:
No blue box then, and it looks like it isn't freepost!
and 0300 123 2012 isn't free either
Looks like a cross channel w/e is going to turn into a two week return via N.I. ?

Well, the first thing that confused me was that the form specifically states it's for going to non-EU countries. It's an old form and perhaps they'll employ some expensive consultants to change its title in due course.

My second confusion was that it said if you are leaving the UK you must complete part 2 of the form. But part 2 says it's for vessels arriving in the UK.

The list of documents now to be carried when sailing within UK waters to prove it's VAT paid (something not required at all before, as far as I know) is a bit alarming. My MAB just doesn't have most of those.

All this hassle and my recently renewed passport is not even blue.

I’ve noticed a distinct lack of post boxes in the English Channel and Wi-fi signal to send electronically.
Forgive my stupidity but for a long weekend trip to the Channel Islands if I arrive back on my mooring late Sunday night we are not allowed to go ashore until clearance is obtained but I have to go ashore to post the form and drive home illegally to receive clearance in the post leaving the crew incarcerated on the boat for several days/weeks?

And it refers to Notice 1 for customs allowances which was last updated in 2017 and still includes the blue channel for arrivals from EU.
Shambles!

Well I called the yacht line when returning from Guernsey. I think the recipient was surprised to find the phone ringing and didn’t have the crib sheet to hand. What followed was a question about non-eupassport holders and anything to declare. Nothing else not even passport numbers.

It was probably the cleaner.

Notice 8 appears to have been hastily produced. Look at the first line:
“This notice is intended for us by owners”.
The “us” should say “use”.
Disappointing and brings a lack of credibility to the new process.

Ireland is part of the common travel area. Not sure why they only mention NI and not Ireland. Flung together, I suspect.

I wonder if anyone will actually follow this.

Probably not, eventually. A lot of it is already in place and always has been.....

Yes, I had a similar experience. A Brummie girl answered and sounded very relieved when I suggested I just carry on ashore.

When I rang them after a 23:00 arrival from Guernsey I was surprised how quickly and efficiently they answered the phone. But the call amounted to,
Any non-EU nationals?
No.
Any guns?
No.
Any drugs?
No.
Ok you're cleared take your Q down.

I thought the form was a bit confusing, but then I am a foreigner, so that’s hardly surprising. I’m relieved to see some of you locals are not too sure either.
This not going to add to the attractions of sailing to the U.K. from the continent. Now where did I leave that Q-flag?

Vessels less than 12 metres long may have to pay Customs Duty when imported from outside the UK.

Oh, and what about over 12m gin palaces

If you are buying from a business that does not charge VAT on the transaction or from a private individual in the UK and the seller states that UK VAT has previously been paid on the vessel, you should obtain evidence from the seller that VAT has previously been accounted for

Oh lordy
