For any one considering upgrading from an older 2 HP 2 stroke to a 2.5 HP 4 stroke, I find a massive improvement since I upgraded to a mariner 2.5 HP 4 stroke. Contrary to many comments, the 2.5 HP gets my sib on the plane one up. it begins to plane at 12-13 kmph , which my old dt2 suzuki could not come near to ! . Also my sib is flat bottom, air deck with no keel. I now achieve 17 kmph on the plane.
