Unwanted is the wrong word- unfeasible maybe?

Either way I went down to Essex yesterday for the handover of my new Targa 38- and she's gorgeous! I only wish I was in a better postition to keep her. We had a couple of runs up and down the River Crouch and took a few photos for the benefit of the Press. Here are a few of my own pics.

I've decided this a rich man's toy- and so with a tear in my eye I had to walk away and leave her. Much as I love boating, keeping this one is out my league!

You lucky person.
I'd be jumping for joy but it must hurt to know that it has to go,but i'm sure the cheque you receive for it once sold will put the smile back on your face :-)

Good to know someone wins these competitions!!

ive never known if these competitions were legit but its nice to here someone will make some money out of it. shame you cant keep it but maybe you could look at something around 10-15k for coastal fishing etc. i have my eye on a nice arvor 20

The big question is...............

How much will you accept for a quick sale!

That maybe considerably less than the cost of a new one or a trade with cash adjustment, I'm sure somebody will be interested.

Sorry that you cant keep it but you may make somebody else a very happy chappie and still get some benefit out of you lucky win!

Tom

Oh I know how much they are but,....... this is an unwanted gift which needs to be moved on so there is scope for a potential cost saving for a quick sale?

Tom

PS It's not the one to "float my boat" so to speak but it would have made a great gift! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've no idea what list price is, but would have thought the figure mentioned was a saving. It would 'float my boat' but, like laser jock, out of my league for running costs. I guess 20k a year would be needed, what with diesel an' all.

Well done. I hope you get good honest advice when selling her, and she fetches a fair price for a new boat. I hope you and your family benefit from your good fortune and wish you all well.

I may be wrong bu did you not win a shed load of cash, a villa and flights for 10 years? or was that last year?

Last years prize was a villa in Turkey+ a boat (don't know which)+ a car + a pot of cash + free flights. Still beggars can't be choosers......just one nice boat will suit me fine!

I think you have taken a very tough decision...and made the right one. That Targa 38 will cost an arm and a leg to run.

Best to sell her straight away and then put say 1/2 in a pot to buy a boat and run her for 3/4 years...i.e. free boating!

I look forward to the 'What boat shall I buy' posts in a few weeks time!

Cheers
