Unwanted Log resetting

Hi

I have Raymarine kit. Radar/plotter (RL80CRC) at the nav station and ST60 units in the cockpit (Tridata, Wind and Autohelm control + w repeaters at the second helm station). The log, which I understand should never reset and record only the total mileage since launch, unfailingly resets to 3.2nm everytime I power up the instruments. Raymarine tech support site has gone a bit quiet! Any clever electronic people out there who can see straight away what the problem is?
BTW the rest of the equipment all works very well.

Is there any real need to understand the tech details of what is happening? The unit is duff, and repair / replace is better left to Raymarine as I can confirm having had one to bits half way across Biscay. I got it back together but had to replace all the same. My excuse was that I was bored, but swmbo was not amused.

Not interested in tech details; didn't make myself clear. Am interested in " oh yes, I had the same problem, just pressed x twice, reset y and it's now perfect!"

Ring 'em at Portsmouth and ask for tech dept.
I had a problem with one of their ST30 units which turned itself into a random number indicator a few years back. They invited me to return it for exchange even though it was out of warranty,

Incidentally, I should take my own advice. My ST60 wind often gets apparent and true wind interposed and after adjustment, the fault just re-sets itself at the next power-up. It isn't a set-up fault as it only happens intermittently.

Wouldn't have Raymarine out of choice again, it just came as the builders standard fitting.
