Unidentifiable tool

Hello , can anyone please shed any light on what this tool is for (picture below)I have just purchased the boat and it was sitting in the engine compartment, it obviously undoes something but I just can't see what.

I’d guess it is the undo the top of the strainer.
google photos tells me it is an RO spanner for a water filter.

I used to have one on the corniche, mine was for a drinking water filter.
the filter was under the kitchen sink.
yours could be anywhere from the fresh water tank to the tap.

Bin it and you will find out afterwards what it was for.
Personally, I would keep it on board for a year and then at home for a few more years and then bin. That should give enough time to see whether it has a use on board.

I suppose the small hexagonal hole is for a drain plug so you can drain the filter before unscrewing it.
