Unhappy sailing bunnies

Ah but your missing the point. Its the bonhomie, the doff of the sailing cap, the camaraderie and the mutual respect of all.
The real pain in the arse is the M3/M27/A33 on a friday night with all the bluddy kamakazie BMW deivers. And then again on sunday!

The answer to the Bavaria problem

sub clause 74b

"All new vessels imported into the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland must sail to a UK-acceptance port from their point of manufacture, or point of sale if imported as a second-hand vessel."

I couldn't work out why the type of boots you were wearing should affect your visual appreciation of the fair woolly jumper.

In fact its a long standing national disgrace, recently released papers show that one of the prime motives in subsidising the Concorde development was that the many yacht explosions upon going aground could be explained away as sonic booms. Many of the early UFO sightings were of yachts after contact with a SUB (Solent Unexploded Bomb) .. in fact this was the rationale behind naming the UFO.
Also the recent withdrawal of Concorde is more to do with the govt wishing to blame explosions on terrorists rather than the YIO. (Yacht in orbit.)

It's been going on for years, Jimi. Noticed the number of 'faulty gas installation sparks explosion on yacht' s following the withdrawal of Concorde? It's no coincidence and now Trinity House have been tasked to recover some of the munitions, funded by increased light dues. There's irony! Naturally it's only the ones that directly affect deep-draught vessels they are looking at (though they don't admit this).

We should stick together on this and refuse to pay any light dues until they agree to clear the high-density munitions area round the entrances to Hythe and Chichester.

Now you've really got my blood boiling!

Re:Kite surfers

Rumour has it .. the first kite surfer was in fact the spinnaker trimmer on Bavaria 34 when a slight gust came along !

Re: Sshhh

That's a relief .. though he might have caught fire, the flares ignited, one landing in the local dynamite store, blew it up, causing a fault movement triggering a massive earthquake devastating mainland Greece .. and all because of the wrong charging device! Its a worry!

Re: Sshhh

No, I believe in the end he foresaw this and fitted the Richter Smart Seismic Regulator with the anti-gripe foldback protection. Must have a bob or two.

Red Wellies

... have never seen red sailing wellies before, I've seen yellow, blue, green and black but never red .. is this some sort of dress code in N. Wales? Or perhaps a signal of some sort?

Re: Never a dull moment.

I sail all over the country but the Solents home waters.

Its Premiere League stuff.

Solent sailors are, slicker, sexier, sublimely competent and resourceful.

It's a great training area, a fantastic race track and full of eye candy boats to drool over.

Who ever put that big breakwater to the south of Hampshire had their head screwed on.

Maybe there's actually something magical about the letter "S" ?

Have you noticed how many yacht names start with "S" .. Sadler,Scanmar,Swan to name but a few.

And then there is the great unwashed everywhere else I expect, ooop north here, that is north of watford we still look for extra cupboard space for our ferrets, fridge space ample enough for black puddin and somewhere warm to store our kegs of real ale. We all have beards and whoop when one of em new fangled plastic boats come in ta 'arbour. We have petrol/parrafin engines and regularly regail land lubbers about our last regatta flotila, dan to Dunkirk to join the Solent boys on their small ships.

Ah, them was tha' days. Have to go now, ferrets need a feed and whippets need a good run.

They're might be a lot of disssatisfaction but most of them still are still keeping their boats there. I love sailing in the Solent, there's always something to see. What I HATE is trying to find a berth for the night, especially at weekends.
