one year warranty should be the norm. I dont know about the UK but here one year warrinty is required by common law and UK has much higher consumer protection laws than RSA

I looked at ultraleds a while ago and due to the curt responces I did not purchase.
 
Ultraleds is committed to improving our products and services and with each generation of bulbs produced light output and longevity is improved. As with any emerging technology it will take time to perfect for different markets.

Under UK law we are not required to offer any warranty on light bulbs as they are classed as consumable products (try and find any product that includes light bulbs in the warranty )

We have listened to criticisms from our customers and will warranty certain bulbs for one year as our suppliers have agreed to do the same. Having been in the LED business for over 5 years now, all we can negotiate is a one year returns policy with our suppliers in Japan, America and China- all of which offered a ‘lifetime warranty’ a couple of years ago but now only offer one year or less.

We will not put any further posts on this forum- as despite our best efforts- it only generates negativity towards us.

Sorry to hear that you wont post again. One of the great benefits of this forum, and others like it is that over time the suppliers of good quality products who post and offer advice are generally well accepted.

As a supplier of a niche product which would have great benefits in the yachting environment, you will have noticed that questions regarding LEDs occur quite often and it is always nice (in my opinion anyway) that people who know about these products are able to offer greater insight. Maybe through this advice sell a couple of bulbs as well!

I appreciate that other posters have not had the experience with your company as they would have liked, i can't comment on their experience, but that is the nature of business.

[/ QUOTE ] That's a shame. Ok some people have raised grumbles on this thread, but Ultraleds have been recommended loads of times on the forums. LEDs get discussed a lot - we're a miserly lot when it comes to battery power. Our interior lights are now almost all have Ultraleds retrofit bulbs, and when I add some more reading lights then they'll be LED as well.
 
Hmph! After inviting Ultraleds to comment on this thread (yes, it was me who emailed them about this discussion) I emailed them to thank them for their comments. I then asked them what I should do with the four festoon bulbs I bought off them last month which have all burnt out.

No reply.
 
My advice is not to deal with ultraleds.co.uk. I was very disappointed with their products and service. They removed my review of a product on the website as it was not favourable. The letter I wrote to them remains unanswered. I have informed Trading standards about the company.

I would like to know where my bulbs are as well. I returned some 'cold white' LED's and asked for the 'warm white' instead. You sent me an e-mail a on the 27 April saying that they had been despatched and I am still waiting for them.

Initially I was very pleased with your service as the first bulbs came through promptly and you even credited me with the p&p on my faulty order (despite it being my fault for ordering the wrong ones). Now I am not so sure. From my point of view you've got £40 plus of my money and I've got no bulbs.

I e-mailed you on the 26 May asking what was going on and I've had no reply.

Still as bad in 2012

Sorry to bump and old topic but I've just had awful service from the company and didn't feel I wanted to let them get away with it.
I would rarely go to the trouble of writing a negative review but I have had such terrible customer service from Ultraleds that I felt compelled to warn others. I made an international order and paid by credit card. The items were sent to Germany instead of Portugal which I brought to the attention of Ultraleds and they informed me they would not look into it for THREE MONTHS ! I said in that case i will cancel the credit card payment which they informed me I would be committing fraud. The messages were consistently rude and arrogant and they ended up saying "Please don't use us again". Needless to say I shan't. I don't have a problem when a delivery goes awry, we all know it happens, but how they dealt with the problem showed the lack of respect for their clients, and willingness to abdicate all responsibility once the payment had been received and order dispatched. I would recommend to not use ultraleds.co.uk.
 
still As Bad in 2014

My order took over a month to fulfil. During this time their communication was dismissive or non-existent. Some of the lamps are faulty and I'm locked in the 'returns' nightmare. Whether this guy cares or not about service, in practice he doesn't deliver. I'll be shopping elsewhere from now on.
 
How is this company still managing to find customers? There are other threads relating to this company (including my own experiences), and precious little, if anything, good......

The majority of posts regarding this Company and its products are negative, yet the principal is not prepared to address them.

Nothing travels faster or further than bad news..............................
 
I have to add a small positive contribution, I bought 5 LED "spot" type bulbs from Ultraleds a few years ago, they arrived promptly and are all working fine.

I have however recently replaced some of them with a type more suited to the overhead dome fittings from JMG LED Lighting and would recommend them also.
