UK mast providers

Don't know what size mast, but I'd heartily recommend Sailspar.

For various reasons I never did end up getting a new mast from anyone, but if I did - and if the new production boat project I was involved with had worked out - it would definitely be them, could not be more helpful.

As opposed to Selden, who did not want my money, and it seemed would only deign to supply a mast if I employed a designer to give the loads on every wire on my 1970's boat ( I thought they were supposed to do the masts not me ) - they weren't interested in the fact the boat had a well established rig to go by - this is no exagerration, that's how it played out, much to my disbelief.

So I think you get the message I'd probably go for Sailspar...

No connection.

I've heard that Z-sparsUK are helpful and competitively priced. Sell kits too, if that's what suits you. No direct experience, but I've known 2 satisfied customers.

I can also recommend Z-Spars - never bought a mast from them but they sorted out a new spring for my unknown make of rod kicker, supplied a 2nd hand boom section and kit for the end castings, supplied new guard wires and other bits and pieces, all at very reasonabvle prices, very knowledgeable and helpful. I would use them again. http://www.zsparsuk.com/

Similar experience with Selden at the London boat show. They were more interested in chatting with each other than to a potential customer. However, I do think they make decent masts.

I've just bought a mast from Z-Spars.Their service is very good and their quote was the cheapest amongst the UK companies I contacted. They even stopped production on other masts in order to do mine as I'm on a deadline.I'm a very satisfied customer.

Z Spars

We re-masted Lassiette twenty years ago with a tin mast from Z Spars. All done by fax and phone prior to this easy internet stuff.

Very professional and easy to talk to as I remember. Mast came made up with halyards etc in place an the back of a (long) lorry!

They supplied mast; deck support; keel shoe; rigging; rod kicker; halyards; reefing pennants; spinnaker boom and associated uphauls/downhauls.

Rigging cut to size on arrival and everything fitted as per original mast.

Regards
Donald

Paul,
Z Spars did Clive's boat Sirenia. Send him a PM for a good review.

Sailspar local East Coast gave me good advice before.

Rigging is Dave of DRS in Southminster.

Another vote for Z spars with one reservation. If you have a runner on your boom for an in mast reefing system the Z-Spar ones are not very good.
