I agree w/fatipa - $65/hr at a yard and they tend to replace vs repair. Throwaway society!. It's always a good idea to check thoroughly what you've been charged for vs what you asked them to do. In two instances when I've had my boat serviced, I've had $800 and $1000 refunds after I complained. Most US mechanics, either auto or marine are single-tasking and many are paid on commission. Best thing is to find a reliable small company or individual to do the work, or are you thinking of setting up shop here? I'm in SW Florida.
