It has been said the two best days of boat ownership is when buying and selling,

I bought "One Away" four years ago, almost to the month and sold her yesterday!

Right now I really don't know how I feel, it certainly isn't one of the two best days, that I can assure you.

I didn't take a great hit on the deal, so there's no ill about selling, yes I got chipped on the price but only about 6% off the asking.

but now I've started looking on the "net" for a replacement, I'm some what shocked at the cr4p along with the price expectation of a lot of the boats on the market, so much so, that I'm beginning to think that I've undersold mine.

it's just a rant to vent my misery.

I don't like boatless as a status or condition:D

What sort of thing are you looking for, David?

Hi Martin, for the last few months, been looking at Storebro biscay 31's but the condition and price ranges are very surprising to me, from as little as 25 through to 60!!! I like the quality of finish of these Swedish boats and their use of space is excellent, although going a bit towards a floating caravan concept, but hey, an old fart like me needs to be warm and comfortable these days:)

something with a lid and doors at the back, so I can use it when summer finishes, sometime after 3rd of May:D

Its not nice being boat less, I sold mine in Nov and have been looking ever since for a replacement, something in the pipe line now! You have to do a lot of looking and that means looking at the smaller brokers that don't necessary use the well know web sites, as you said though there is a " load of **** out there"

Good luck

glad it went well David, had that feeling they were serious after spending a good amount of time with the seatrial and then asking for a look out the water after... on a positive note, in the short term, it'll give you more time to site on the top of the slipway laughing inwardly at the cock ups:D

you missed a cracker yesterday, swing keel yacht on a piggyback launch trailer, he didn't want to get his road wheels wet, boat and piggyback cradle rolled off into the water to find that the swing keel had dropped and jammed in the cradle took nearly two hours to sort the mess out, while the back log of boats wanting to launch and recover built up to about 10 waiting, we even had time to make up score cards from cardboard and marker pen he got 5.1 for presentation, 5.3 for artistic interpretation, and a round of applause when he finally sorted out the mess. we told him we'll post some snippets on youtube ( but I was lying) which made his team all blush, after all there were 6 adults dealing with it.
