tvcatchup.com.GONE

No one knows that it's due to pressure from any broadcasting company. It's been suspended by their web hosting company, who gave the reason
"This Account Has Been Terminated For Terms Of Service Violations."

No one as yet has shown that the termination was due to any broadcaster pressure (though it does seem likely)

The big players are getting there slowly. You can catch up last 7 days of some BBC programmes on iPlayer, ITV have Catchup, and Ch4 also has similar. They plan to collaborate to produce a portal with all their programmes on, codenamed kangaroo. They say it's planned to be launched later this year, though brand name not decided, nor official launch date yet released.

You can also watch live here amongst other places
http://www.liveuktv.com/
and use software to record it to your computer, but not as simple as tvcatchup was.

I've already read it, and as I said previously, no one appears to know why the account was terminated. Notice they don't say it was at the behest of broadcasters.

Yup, sorry, thought it had been updated but misread the date as today's somehow /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

It does say presumed though, which, from news websites and BBC statements it seems like it was a complaint by beeb, ITV, C4 etc

It was updated very recently, as up until late yesterday was still showing the hosting company message of termination.

As I've said previously, no one has yet shown it was a broadcaster complaint caused the termination, though it is likely. Also just as likely is that the hosting company decided they didn't want the potential hassle, and found some small print that let them terminate of their own accord.

It showed most of the UK Freeserve channels, except you didn't watch live, you simply scheduled all the programmes you wanted to watch, and it would record them for you to view later at your leisure. A sort of online Personal Video Recorder.
