I think ot depends on how you use your boat. When we were liveabiards we had one, bolted to one of the bulkheads, but used it to watch films/series we downloaded on, rather than live tv. Was nice on a wet evening or sometimes when we wanted to shut ourselves away.
If we are just going away for a couple of weeks then less/no need for it for us.

'TV' on an iPad or computer - we watch the evening news. If no signal no worries. We get the weather on SSB or VHF or one of the Marine Rescue stations (who offer the weather on request). Very little news impacts us personally and if it does - there is nothing we can do about it. The iPad is invaluable as we use if connected by wifi to the Chartplotter (which is at the helm).
