Hi Terry
Thanks for asking - yes she is going well and I've had a fantastic season on her. 185 hours, 80 overnight names in guestbook, no breakdowns. Every weekend since June spent on board except 1. I'm 100% delighted with her and with the backup from Fairline and Essex Boatyards. Been to Corsica twice and all around Cote D'Azur. Had Jeremy Clarkson and crew on board and filmed Top Gear Christmas DVD which will be out late November (we had a chase boat and a 'copter, so should have some great footage, all shot in St Tropez). When I find time (from writing physics essays about stabilisers, erk!) I'll do a post of some cruising this summer. Conventional TV on board is dead. Internet TV is more versatile and less expensive.

personally always thought one of the best things about being on the boat is - NO TV! Make 'em take part in real life for a change.

I tend to agree, but only 95% of the time. It was great to be able to watch the Lions test matches using SkyGO on an iPad while on passage last summer.

that's all well and good most of the time but there are occasions when kids do like to watch tv

my kids are 12 and 16 and neither are tv fanatics infact they are both sports mad they are both a 2nd Dan black belt in kick boxing which is quite an accomplishment especially for a 12 year old and has taken them years of training to achieve along with lots of other stuff football team etc etc

as you say boating is not about the tv and we do loads of other stuff when at the boat so to quote "get them to take part in real life for a change" is a bit daft

It wasn't intended as a personal crtiicism aimed at you or your kids - just a reflection on the way many kids are these days. Glad to hear yours are not surgically attached to TV/smart phones/electronic devices like so many others.

no worries I understand where you are coming from but everyone thinks their kids are great including me but they really are not tv boffins they love the outdoors and sport which is a good thing

when we are at the boat my lad loves going out in the tender and prefers rowing to the outboard as long as he keeps that up he wont end up fat like his dad
