Not that I use the TV much, but after years of messing about with poles and different recievers I was so impressed with one of these fitted on a freinds boat that I bought one.

After running new cables the lenth of the boat (not fun) I discovered I had left the mounting bracket on the table at home, so unable to complete the job I put the connected dome in the stern wheelhouse locker with all the engines wiring cables/contlrol cables.

For a laugh I switched the TV on and got a better signal than I have ever had with any other system I have used, and its less than two foot above the river in a box with a load of wiring.

Anyone know of a better one?

No connection just an impressed customer.

Bought £75 worth of freesat receiver and dish a couple of years ago. Brilliant. Receives all usual freesat channels and only screwed if VERY close to obstruction at 152 degrees.
Been using in Holland this and last year too.
Contemplated £2.5k of satcom Intellian receiver at boat show but decided that £75 of kit just as good even if you have to line it up manually.

If you buy one of these:-
Here (I have one of this type)

I haven't tried this one.

It's permanently wired inside the boat, within earshot of the dish. Point the latter in the approximate direction and adjust for maximum volume.

The analogue meter type are useless as the response is non linear.

I use a Moonraker digital aerial, works fine in most places.

Speak to Charles at Moonraker, these are not dear, and he may do a deal if you mention my name!
