Plans for April have changed as we've managed to get cheapish flights ex E.Mids to Pisa. Anyone suggest where to go to for a week from charter base in Piombino? This trip will mean I've been a Raggie twice in 6 months. Is this what they mean by the Male Menopause?

Piombino is a dump so get out as fast as you can. To the south is Punta Ala which is very posh and ideal for that Gucci handbag. Expensive but worth a night. I remember that Elbe is about 20 miles away and fantastic. Portoferraio has a good marina next to the town, but also a large bay where you can anchor and tender into the town. Try and tuck yourself into a corner because the Moby ferries hammer in and out of the port. It gets a bit windy which might suit you. I've not been all the way around but the north east and south coast is great, with the west looking a bit dull.

Thanks. Luckily Kiriacoulis have now moved their base to a new marina between Punta Ala and Follonia so we don't have to endure Piombino anymore.
