Got to be a bargain. Self-built steam engined launch £12,500
It's beautifully crafted, and seriously cool - but would you actually want to own/ use it? At this price maybe, just maybe. Can't imagine the work in creating that delightful boat, Worth a lot more,

I wonder if that''d be legally possible now? That would be the Naptha launch, they used a closed cycle engine & boiler/condenser. The whole lot often being made of non ferrous ie brass & bronze. Most would have been scrapped for WW1, Somebody was once asked where all the Naptha launches went & replied "I guess they all blew up?".
You will never eat a better bacon & egg than one cooked in the shovel in the firebox of a steamboat.
Steam launches are a bad disease to catch....
Is she still called Anachronism?I suspect the boat originally cost way more than that. My late Father in law was a long term member of the Sba & spent many years building a steam engine from scratch & then a 28ft launch to carry it. He got old doing it all & did get her steaming on Benfleet creek. After he passed away we subsequently sold the boat to a gentleman from Northumbria.
He also had dreamed of building his own engine & boat, A dour yorkshire engineer asked him "How old are you?"
He replied "60" (having just retired as a Gp) The engineer told him "Buy a boat & throw money at it or you will never do it!".
And so this is what he did, she is now in commision on Lake Windermere, bigger engine, fiercer propellor & goes like the clappers. You will never eat a better bacon & egg than one cooked in the shovel in the firebox of a steamboat.
