Tuning a mast

Hi All......does anyone out there have any simple way of tuning the standing rigging on their masts. I haved just bought a trailer sailer and it needs tuning..I dont have a tension gauge or anything fancy like that....just a spanner and a pair of pliers. Discuss and advice please

All you need to know, add some sticky tape and a steel tape and you're off.

Have a look on the Selden site. There is a a step by step guide on how to do it. Sufficiently generic to apply to all main types of rigs, not just Selden.

Or get a Loos tension gauge. You'll need a type A (91M) for 2.5, 3.0 and 4.0mm wire, a type B (90M) for 5,6 and 7mm wire. About £60.
