Arrived in Yarmouth yesterday after a nice crossing from Hamble, not many people out and great fun. Some video taken and will post at some stage, the trip felt like a non event as although rough Tulana sliced through nicely. Then just off Yarmouth pier oil pressure alarm sounded for 2 seconds, then went off, oil pressure gauge fluctuating! Aim was to get into Yarmouth ASAP, loads of boats around, wind gusting 40knots blowing boats sideways and had fun time avoiding, went straight round and moored up. Opened up engine cover and oil everywhere!!! Found oil pipe to oil cooler had worn against another and eventually holed. Cleaned up oil, about 10litres worth.... Removed oil cooler pipes and another 10 litres of coolant then emptied itself into the engine bilges and had to be cleaned up. Today our friends took us to Newport, got new pipe made up for £28 . Got 20litres of shell rimula for £54, pipe fitted, fluids filled, engine ran up and levels checked. Tulana ready to fight another day!
