Having read the forum for advice on dehumidifiers and heaters for my boat (which will be out of the water for the winter) I have purchased both. Is it safe to leave the tubeheater running continually? Do I need a thermostat? Where should it go? Isn't the point to keep the dehumidifier from freezing but I have seen suggestions that it should go in the engine bay. Thanks in advance for any help.

You need to keep heat in area that the de humidifier is working within.

I have a Green-house Dimplex thingy on a thermostat on lowish on the galley sole and the dehumidifer on the galley work top draining to the sink.

Nothing in the E/R as I do not believe in heating Portsmouth....

This worked a treat last year.
