Hi guys,
I'm trying to locate contact details for a Hunter 336 named Lady J (I'm fairly sure that's what she is), lying in the boatyard in Portimao, for my buddy who may be interested in buying her if she's for sale. He does know that the original owner passed away several years ago and that the boats title passed to "Robert ??????". The yard have no details either and the boat is lying going to waste. Just posting in here on the off chance someone may remember something about her.

Unless she has been abandoned then you would expect someone to be paying the boatyard fees & for the yard to know who that person is. But this is Portugal & the likely hood is that the yard staff just cant be bothered to look into it for you. Confidentiality may also be involved due to Portuguese laws. GrahamM might be able to advise here.
She may also at some time in the past been in the marina so might be worthwhile asking there.
PS. were you really a greenie ? :)

Getting blood out of a stone is easier than getting info from Portuguese officialdom and, if you do make official enquiries, then the boat will most likely get impounded if the owner can't be traced quickly. If it's UK registered, better to hunt around registry or last known UK base, for people who may have known the owners.

Thanks for that but the boatyard don't have any contact and are not being paid. Marina can't / won't help, - data protection or the Portuguese equivalent.
PS only when I'm seasick.

If the boat yard fees etc have not been paid I would expect them to try and recover the costs outstanding from the new owner. Depending on money outstanding it may make it uneconomic to proceed.

The PM seem to have plenty of info on all boats. When we've been stopped they just seem to input the boats name & instantly have all the details they need to check against your papers.
Probably come to nothing but worth a try.

A quick look at the ITU MMSI data base turns up a lot of Lady J's.

http://www.itu.int/online/mms/mars/ship_search.sh

Do you know where she was flagged?
I assume either UK or Portugal but could be anywhere I suppose. Robert could be British, Dutch, American etc etc I suppose.
Interesting data base list - I'll see if there's any more info from the yard like mmsi etc. to narrow it down a bit. Unfortunately no ssr number on the transom.
