hi I'm in Denmark and trying to get a reasonably priced dinghy of around 2.5-3 meters. they all seem so expensive !
where can get something reasonable in this country ? or should I wait to get to Germany first ?
Many thanks

There are actually plenty of reasonable dinghys that are designed more for the fisherman than labelled 'Marine' - Yachting ...

When I look round many boats today in marina's - I am seeing more of these when space is limited and need to fold into a bag etc. Avons and similar - you see in davits ... but I am seeing less and less of such known brands lately.

I am also in the market to buy a small dinghy ... preferably one that folds as small as possible into a bag .. which means without hard transom ... the amount of use it would have really does not justify spending a lot ...
Many roundtails can have E-Motors fitted - so not always stuck with rowing ..

The OP is on his way to Turkey (he has posted here on the subject several times) and that sort of cheapo plastic dinghy will not last 5 minutes in the rough and tumble life of a long term cruiser. As in everything in life you get what you pay for and the ones I linked to are the bare minimum and many would advocate paying twice as much for an inflatable that has a good chance of standing up to the demands of cruising, particularly in the Med. Apart from normal wear of inflating and deflating, rubbing up against stone quay walls or dragged up beaches UV takes its toll and many choose to make canvas "chaps" to protect their dinghies if they are left inflated outside for long periods. A good quality 2.5m PVC dinghy in the 800 euros plus price range will typically last 10 years if looked after.

You will find prices much the same across Europe, maybe even higher the further south you go.

This is a good guide to prices of the bottom end of the market svb24.com/en/category/dinghies?utm_campaign=category_tile_73788_64745&utm_source=en_category_tile&utm_medium=webpage
I wouldn't under any circumstances buy another Seatec product after my experience with a SUP I bought from SVB. I'm also disappointed to see the negative review of the board which I posted on the site last summer is no longer there. I should say, in fairness, that SVB refunded me in full.

Why wait? Being in Denmark you have the whole of the EU to shop in without incurring extra VAT or duty. When shopping around a couple of years ago, I located one in Spain and postage to Portugal wasn't too painful. I also buy boaty stuff from Germany and Italy.

Fair comment - but it still does not explain why such cheaper dinghys are being seen more often ...

Because there are always people who will buy cheap stuff and if you don't use it much it might be OK. However one hopes that people undertaking such a project as the OP with the sort of boat he has will appreciate that something better is needed.

Fair comment - I have no direct experience of that brand, but was just using it to illustrate the floor level price of PVC dinghies - with the rider that you may get better if you pay more.
