As an aside, ISTR that you had a moan a while back about canoes
not being allowed in "The Bay". The "White Water" people have cut
through the piles at the downstream end and put a pontoon on the
outside from which they are launching.........CANOES.
JEKEEDA II is on CBYC 'N' pontoon and I get a good view of the activity
except for the white water bit.
As a further aside I'm waiting for another High Water incident cos
the bottom of the gateway is only about 3 feet above normal water
level and they don't seem to have anything to fill the gap!

Bit we don't get is if you pay to kayak you become immune to the water quality bugs but if you don't pay there seems to be a water quality issue!!
I assume the new white water thing is using river ely water.
Dinghy sailers often capsize and if there is such a big issue with water , should we even be in the bay?

I spoke to one of the instructors last week, he said that the water is separate from the river and filtered everytime it goes through the pumping system. It certainly looks cleaner than the water over our side of the bay.

Well I went on Saturday afternoon, and it is excellent. However it's not for the faint of heart. For those of you who see me in the next week or so - I haven't been fighting. I just did a section of the course the wrong way up!
