...have given up the ghost and date to 1996. What opinions to OP's have about a replacement make ? The Truma equivalent appears to be for caravans and RV's only.
Despite what they say, I don't see much difference in environmental conditions between boats and caravans. If you can get a Truma equivalent at a sensible price, go for it. Otherwise you're into more expensive "marine" equipment.
Of course, you could always just turn the cylinder off when you don't need it.
"Suitable for marine and leisure vehicles", it says in the description.
RV Gas Solenoid Valves | Caravan & Marine | gasproducts.co.uk
Maybe this one then.Vic
That valve is normally closed and required continuous 12VDC for gas to flow.
Maybe this one then.
Replacement Gas Solenoid Valves | Envin Scientific
It is the one supplied for use with Pilot gas alarms but it may need a controller ???
OR
This one Gas Solenoid Valves - VAL-12/24V-PS
which only requires 10W for 2 secs ,then reduces to 2.5W
Gas Check Marine used to be the often recommended firm but they were taken over by Apollo Gas a few years ago.I have bitten the bullet today and purchased the Nereus LPG/CO2 _ solenoid for an arm and a leg. I can do the electrics but they recommend a gas engineer to install at the bottle end. The issue I'll have is finding someone who isn't going to insist on a Gas Certificate for another £100+ that I don't need. If you have any recommendations in the Chichester/Hayling/Portsmouth area I'd appreciate it.
Thanks Vic.Gas Check Marine used to be the often recommended firm but they were taken over by Apollo Gas a few years ago.
Maybe worth contacting them but I expect the" rules" will require them to test their work and issue a certificate. That will basically mean pressure testing the boats installation, so not going to be far off a full inspection an test anyway ........... If they find any problems the cost of an inspection and test will be money well spent and in any case good for peace of mind if they find nothing wrong.
Not the most friendly website IMHO but Apollo Gas & Gas Check Marine for safe LPG on boats caravans & camper vans
Not heard anything bad about Apollo
