Trouble removing cutlass bearing housing

I am trying to remove a cutlass bearing housing so that I can replace the bearing, I'm unsure how to remove the shaft key (see below), so that the housing can slide off, if anyone coould point me in the right direction I would be grateful.

Thanks for the advice, I suspected that was the case, but I tried with a small screwdriver and when i didn't pop out I thought I had better check first. I'll try again with a little more force.
 
If it's not coming out easily it is possible someone may have stuck it in with some epoxy, it's not normal practice but you never know what you might find, in which case if you heat it up it should come out easily.

Drill a hole into the key (Only the key and not the shaft) center and tap a thread into the hole and screw a machine screw into it which should wind the key out of the way.
 
Quick update - I put a pair of grips on the key and tapped with a hammer and it came free. At last a problem solved with no real drama, or reason to drill or grind. Thanks for all the advice.
