Trotman barge below Hampton court

Regarding the BSC issued this month, it really would be interesting to hear from the examiner. If any forumite has an idea who it is, perhaps they could invite them to respond to the thread.

It might at the right price make a good cheap home for students surely if it can reach Kingston ?

Too far for them to walk...

I am amazed that the live aboards are able to afford to drink and dine in Teddington's finest establishments...

But there's nowhere to moor it , students or not. Trotman has ensured that it is persona non grata along the whole river.

I like that there is a button marked 'insure this boat' on the advert lol

Trotman and others have run rings around the EA and councils for years.
Perhaps they should buy the hulk to save on lawyer fees! :)

To be fair to both the agency and Richmond council , there's only recently been legislation to finally move them.

It's taken years because the byelaw needed to be watertight , as it was to be a framework for other councils to use. Trotman , his buddies and the parasitic no win no fee lawyers tested it in court a few times , and it has proven to be robust finally.

Hence why it is up for sale. He's out of options.

Be a shame if there was a fire on it.

Once the new builds start to gain pace at the old Haymarket site those delvelipers will move heaven and earth to bring back the "beautiful "view ...

I noticed the demolition contractors when we were up there this summer. I remember teddington studios hosting "The Word" when I lived in Hampton Wick in the 90s.

I would have thought their view of the area blighted by these vessels would be rather obscured by the weir.

I do think property developers have a lot of clout though - can't see porthampton island lasting long !! (Off topic)

There was a derelict boat moored on platt's Eyot by Hurst Park on the Thames the EA were chasing the owner but before they caught up with him he sold on Ebay for one penny where by relinquishing any responsibility!!! I wouldn't put it past Trotman to pull a stunt like that with his armada of slumboats

But you would need to use the broker's trade plates I think. Looks like the owner is selling the boat himself so I don't think that would apply would it?

Nah Penton is right, he can join all the other pikeys that don't buy a license!
My boat is unfortunately winterised so not available.
Has anyone got any fireworks left over from last week to save us all the bother?

Are you, and others, seriously suggesting that it would be "great" if these boats caught fire, and even more so purposely torched with the potential of causing death!!!!! Shame on those that appear to be trolling - even the thread tags suggest this.
I've reported this thread and await action, if any, by the management

Very much doubt that Apollo is seriously proposing what your are suggesting.
It is difficult sometimes to indicate that things are said very much tougue in cheek on the forum.
There are one or two on here, who I would not be suprised to see suggest such a unfortunate course of action, but Apollo is not one of them. :)
He may have boat with a serious surplice of net curtains and a couple of strange engines but we all have our faults.
