Trotman barge below Hampton court

Thought I read on here that Trotman had been clearing vegetation below the lock?and along with acro props to help with stability as its half tidal it's pretty obvious he's hoping no mans land will save him and he's in it for the long haul.
As he's run rings around the authorities for years I wouldn't think it's the end game anytime soon.
Hope I'm wrong.

Re: Always willing to help.

Richmond council own the bank / beach and have said they will start enforcement the moment he goes on it. The byelaw covers all land owned by them.

Police heading over bridge now.

I wonder if he'll just leave this one rafted out on the tail lay by, causing an obstruction to barge lock approach?

Re: Always willing to help.

I certainly hope so..... EA launch and tugs are coming down through the launch lock now, and a white-hat or two just went and spoke to Trotman.

Re: Always willing to help.

I'd give a lot to have been in on the planning meetings for this operation. Co-ordinating the agencies, authorities, and the bailiffs, must have been so much fun. Trotman made them look silly, and loss of face is a big driver when dealing with local government.

I just hope no-one gets hurt , especially the innocent residents. Where on the Thames can the hulks be taken to ?

Yes, there are a LOT of people here now, over 20 ashore plus crews of tugs and launches.

Re: Always willing to help.

Alan , I've been over there and have some photos but for some reason I can't post them here. Can I pm them to you on twitter and you post them ?

They're on their way to Penton Hook(not the Marina). Trotman said he wants to keep them! I believe that this is the end of the story, no one will be sleeping on those wrecks tonight. The collection of smaller boats are still moored to the island, the sunken boat is still on the lock moorings

Re: Always willing to help.

It seemed to me that all of the enforcement was from the EA side with just one PLA launch on the dark side .
I also noticed a distinct lack of tea , even the cafe was closed . How are we supposed to watch a live eviction without refreshments !

I think a pint in the Anglers is justified on an occasion like this even this close to noon.

All the smaller boats except one (that actually looks like it's worth something) have gone also. The sunken one (which I don't think was Trotman's) is going on thursday.
