Chichester to La Rague. Peters and May did all paperwork, customs, etc. Boat was already VAT paid and in the EU, so easy enough I suppose

Lorry is favorite for you. Most french canals have about 3.1mtr air draught, and 1.2-1.8mtr draught. As you're on shafts a bit risky, as some canals have a lot of litter to catch you out (plastic bags) also dumped cars (I know, I hit one) This is all a bit risky on a boat with no keel, and fairly unprotected props & rudders.
See my pics below to see how small some bridges can be.

Have just come back from a trip up the Seine to St Mammes on a Princess 430 and have read up a fair bit about the French canals. As long as you pick your route then the air draft will be 3.5m and draught 1.8m You will need lots of fenders for the locks and Navcartes for the route you intend to take, but its great going up the rivers pass Paris on your own boat, and most I have spoken too who have done the whole trip to the med and a great time. Enjoy and read up.

Sorry, can't agree.

First, there will be quite a lot of planning to pick best route for your boat.
Second, exposed shaft drive prop's are no more a problem than anywhere else.
Third, I think airdraft will require much more route planning for your particular boat, due to the flybridge.

Should have bought a Broom. Much easier run!
