Trim tab cylinder replacement

Black flexible hydraulic hose connection at the top of the cylinder has cracked off, so it leaks.

Have bought a replacement.
This has come with a new black hydraulic line.
The new line is going to be ‘fun’ to replace due to the lack of access.

Anyone done this job / left the old hose in place with no ill effects ?

I take it this isn't a Bennett system - usually the hose feeds into the back of the upper ram mount?

we might better understand the difficulties

The hose comes out of the top of the ram, that’s easy, but then disappears into the stern and runs round the back of the engine to the pump on the opposite side.

It would be way simpler to use the old hose on the new ram.

Posting pics, that’s a pain nowadays, thread drift, but where is easiest nowadays ?
