Re: he means infer

I believe the correct usage is that I was implying and you were inferring.

I thought BMW people just liked over-rated cars - are they also interested in boats?

Re: he means infer

Inply means it's made out of laminated wood that''s been stuck together to make a large sheet. Often used by raggies 'cos they like sheets and used in phrases like I think "I'll make a new rudder inply". Or "my anode keeps wearing away should I make one inply". Infer means that someone's game for something or prepared to go along with an idea as in "infer a penny infer a pound".

Hope I've cleared up any confusion.

Re: he means imply

I can infer something from something that YOU say. Or, I can ask you if you implied it - in other words, I can ask if my inference was correct. You can't infer things alone - it's one person's interpretation of a question, statement or command. But you can imply things on your own.

Re: Beautifu Married Wonderful people

don't think pauline has BMW car though - a nice new Merc, I think. What sort of car have you got, Robin? Oops, that read badly, didn't it? I mean, Robin, what sort of car have you got?

Re: he means infer

Are you inferring that there's some humor going on here?.Well stop it immediately you know this is a serious boating forum and humour is definitely not allowed by order of OBH. Now behave and be serious, please or you'll get us all kicked out.

Re: Anyone for a sofa?

But then when you were at skool jfm, didn't a shag often start out on the sofa. Hence the implication of a girl agreeing that she wanted to sit on the sofa, inferred that she really fancied a shag?

Hence sofa, imply, infer and shag all really mean much the same don't they?
