So a few months into ownership of a Decathlon jacket I bought to replace my 17+ year old Henry Lloyd and I’ve got to say I’m very happy.
I looked to replace the Henry from HL , Musto and the rest of the usual suspects first off but they all felt light and flimsy and none had all the things I was looking to replace - at significantly more ‘investment ‘.

I’ll be interested to see if it stands up to wear and tear as long as my old faithful did - which came free as part of a deal from the magnificent Duncan’s Yacht Chandlers in Glasgow, for top of the range HL Goretex Ocean foulies ( Best Buy ever, I still use the scarf that was also chucked in and replaced the oilies like-for-like when they wore out)

I may,or may not, report back in 17 years..

I have both jackets referred to plus the 500 trousers and am pleased with all.
The collar on the ocean jacket could do with something to fold it away as otherwise it just dangles in front of you and the cuffs which have an overly complex tightening method that is hard to loosen off.

I use the 500 Tribord (like Wully,s) working on the canal pushing gates and winding handles, it has had one full season of hard use and was quite grubby at the end with oil, grease and paint stains from the gates, a Nickwax wash and tumble dry restored it, removing everything but the paint. (Though it did not help my phone which was still in one of the many pockets.) I cycle a lot in mine doing this job and to keep fit in winter and am most impressed by the breathable qualities compared to my real sailing gear. Only problem is that while the extended tail keeps my bum dry it traps me when I go to dismount with embarassing results, most people round here have seen me sprawled on my arse on the towpath.
Still recommended.

I got SWMBO a 900 Ocean jacket, and the quality and attention to detail is superb.

The trousers look really tough too, and I liked the padded and re-enforced knees on them.

I think the jacket was about £180, which was complete bargain.

Just taken delivery of a set of the 900’s. Not tried them out yet, but the construction seems superb... and a fraction of the price of the usual suspects.
