Has anyone out there ever participated or run a treasure hunt in the Solent.

To clarify I am thinking of the shortest distance, time to sail around a number of marks using some simple riddles - Identification of marks to collect points e.g. Prince Consort - the formal title of the husband of a monarch, who apparently was not amused.

If you have any ideas or suggestions, please reply and then I can plagiarise - sorry should be collate!

Cheers
Ian

I think Motor Boat and Yachting mag did a treasure hunt in that area at one of their 'Festival of Power' meetings a few years ago. - then I could be mistaken!
Try a post on the motor boat forum, or contact the MBY people.

We used to have them as a Fun Race in Chichester yacht club at the beginning of each season to drum up cruiser boats to come racing. Family Fun, prizes for best dressed boat, fancy dress, all boats got a small prize, water pistol fights, etc great fun.
I seem to remember 'Welsh disaster' had a few boats running around East Solent one year.
Boats where handicapped and started at timed intervals. Clues where collected from the starter boat, which was stationed in Chi Harbour. You could only collect then when you were started.
But of course after a few years you can run out of riddles
Check out www.cyc.co.uk its agood club website.
