For more than 20 years i painted my decks . Bit of a pain to keep it looking fresh. I used masonary paint after getting fed up with normal deck paint as it always flaked . Masonary paint ends up very green after winter and dirty looking and after many years of touching it up it looked horrible. Its even worse to remove!
I wandered around haslar marina looking at all the boats with single pack paint and every boat had edges flaking/chipped or some other flaw.
Looked at treadmaster but didn't like the price and the thought of how bad it would be if i ever had to remove it trying to get the epoxy off.
Discovered epdm rubber matting that looks identical to treadmaster but half the price and its pretty indestructible.
Didnt bother lining up the diamonds between sheets as i didnt think it made any difference visually. Maybe the colour choice hides/emphasises it.
Glued down by two part contact adhesive. Bought from a glue specialist. The guy told me the biggest failure of contact adhesive was not using enough pressure on initial contact. The more pressure used the better it sticks. 10 years later and its still working as expected.
