Transport from your boat

Tiny wheels a bit of speed tank slapper = out of control. Not on the pavement as said above restrict them to roads and cycle lanes.

These types of electric scooters have become really popular in the towns and cities here in SoF as an alternative to a pedal bike or motor scooter. A friend who is an ER doctor told me they‘ve seen lots of injuries this summer with people who have fallen off, collided with pedestrians or stationery objects, etc

At the beginning of July, a 5-year old boy was killed at a pedestrian crossing on a cycle path on the Promemade des Anglais in Nice. According to the press reports, the rider was a 40 year old man travelling at about 30 km/h who tried to stop but lost control and he is likely to be charged with manslaughter.

Here in Monaco, they introduced a requirement to wear a helmet and they’re also considering a ban on headphones, carrying anything other than a backpack, or similar activities while riding.

Lots of fun, “green” and very convenient … but not that safe.

Back to e scouters .They shouldn’t do it where there are pedestrians.

Why not? Cyclists do.. electric bicycles do.. round my way the council calls pavements "dual use" so use there is legal I think..

The writing is on the wall, there are so many of them around now the government is going to have to legalise them, rented or not I think..

I don't have a problem with e-scooters, but 3rd party insurance should be mandatory for anyone on the roads, cyclists e-scooters, but we already have so many uninsured cars driving around it's going to be impossible to police.

I have absolutely no doubt that I would enjoy it but my concerns are about the dangers they pose.
.

if you tried one you would realise that after a very short while you feel quite safe. Of course some will be stupid on them just as some are stupid in boats. Can they be dangerous of course they can be just like boats.

Since the hire ones have been around in Norwich I have seen just one being used legally. Seen many other times they have been used illegally.
On pavements, (must be on the road in the UK and the user must have a driving licence.)
More than one person on board,
Non hire ones on the road,
Under age users of both hire ones and illegal ones.
