I need to bring a boat back from Gib.
It would have to be by land or deck cargo as it wouldnt make it on it's own steam.
Can anyone recommend a Cheap company to bring it back?
It will probably get to mainland spain under it's own steam if that would make it easier.
Cheers Rob

HOLLAND YACHTING , they have an office in Estepona. Several people have used these as agents-middle men. They sort the shipping, time tables and will even transport boats from other areas to Gib which is the shipping departure point. I don't have their number at hand but they are well advertised. It is an international company and the Estepona office is the most local to Gib

We've been trying to sort out transport from the CDS (Fuengirola) to south-west France for some months now and have recently made a decision and a booking.

Suggest you also try Andersons, speak to Lindsay 01208 862 179
We contacted at least six firms and they've turned out (so far) to be offer best combination of price and service (not quite the cheapest).
Coast to Coast 01489 796 767 bring lots of boats down here, but have proved quite impossible to raise replies, quotes, etc from. Don't know which firm Holland Yachting use, but if it is a Dutch one (I do realise there's no real connection beyond the name . . . ) (is there?) then the quote is likely to make your eyes water.
We also know a good French transporter - Augizeau 0033 251 555 407 - provided a good price but couldn't meet the timescale wanted.

How big's the boat? We're in Gib now - care to share the boat's name?

It's the saltram 34 that i foolishly bought. on pier 3 towards the end called Evening Star.

A larger pile of s**t you will never see.

How long will you be in gib? If you are anywhere near it could you cast an eye over it every and tell me if its ok

Evening Star

No, just a bit surprised at the "pile of . . . " comment!!
Anyway, she's still there - and floating. Hooray!
A bit tatty on the outside and obviously needs some tlc. I seem to remember she might have sustained some damage (to self-steering gear?- sorry, not too sure) in a storm here some while ago. Is that right? Obviously, all that's just a rather unreliable impression from walking around to her this afternoon.
I know nothing about Saltrams - looks a bit like a Westsail . . . ?
You're going to need to get her somewhere else to lift out - obviously - where were you thinking of?

PM me if you need any more help.

Re: Evening Star

The transport company said they can have her lifted from sotogrande (spelling) so i have to get it there. Yes she needs some tlc but there is far to much work to do there. i need to get her home where i can spent my days off on it not a week every 3 months.
The pullpit is new. i was told that got smashed in a storm the same storm that smashed the aries off the boat nextdoor.
I did not know thw wind gear got broke?

Do you know anyone who would shift her to sotogrande?
