Transom Height Pandora 700

Hi sea jet, understand where you are coming from but alas it isn't always possible, when I brought the pandora 700 the set up was very Heavy 9.9 HP Yamaha, with remote controls, it takes 3 people on dry land from its trailer to remove, one pushing from below and two lifting top side, attached to cables, that is what it is, so it stays in, comes out once a year for maintenance.

Announcement

I confess I never thought I would ever be in such complete agreement with Seajet.

All the Rydgeway Marine (later Pegasus Yachts ) boats have easily driven hulls and need only moderate size power units. Our Prelude was almost overpowered with a 2 Stroke Mariner 4.
Equally as these boats are all great sailors as they are relatively light and properly designed. To leave an outboard dragging destroys both the speed and the feel. You are constantly reminded of the drag by the washing machine gurgles. The plug for the well makes a huge difference.

Although the Prelude did not have a well I did have a few years with a Hunter Delta which did so I do feel qualified to have an opinion.

Hi, have now brought a Honda 5hp, long shaft with charging cable, including fuel tank and fuel line, this engine has about 10hrs use was brought new March 2014, still under guarantee for three years,so the 9.9 yamaha electric start with high thrust prop is now for sale 1998 AE.I will be able to lift this out on my own.
I have spoken to many club members who recon there is no problem using the larger yamaha engine in my boat, some say it's preferred for the tides and wind combinations on the Medway.so it can be hard to make a sensible decision. But after struggling with the weight of the yamaha I know I'm doing the right thing.also I won't be messing about with control cables on this engine.

It sounds as though the right engine appeared at the right time.

There's absolutely no doubt you have done the right thing; the oversize engine, as well as being impossible to lift, would just weigh the stern down, destroy sailing performance and chew through fuel !

Yes I agree, it has just had a full service and impeller and top housing replaced, by Power Products in Cuxton, Carb cleaned in there ultra sonic tank as well, so ready to go. I have the invoice for the work. At the boat show I found out they has started making them again, the price is £2600. Or there about.
