Having cut a bigger door way in the transom yes scary i need a new door any ideas on making one and do they have to be water tight thanks for any replies roy
I think the OP has created a larger transom hole, for ease of access/exit, so I think the door needs to be easy to open.If you don't need frequent access you could easily make what I have.
It's a varnished panel of 1/2" marine ply with rounded corners, about 15" x 12".
It overlaps the hole and is held in place with 6 off M6 machine screws which screw into M6 pronged tee-nuts inside.
It is pretty well water tight but could easily be made completely so with the addition of some rubber strip round the edges.
ye its just a transom gate i need somthing light i have tried window people maybe alloy powder coated anyone had it done
